June 13th, 2009

What an awesome day!  Jay Snyder and his son Cory brought out the Screamin’ Demon Monster Truck to the Event.  We were privileged to have the Screamin’ Demon drive around the fields before and after the event.  Jay let many kids get into the drivers seat and even let NLRCMD President, Mike Hylton start it up during a break.  Jay also signed autographs and took part in many pictures.  Thanks again Jay for making NLRCMD’s One Year Anniversary / Free Event something truly special.

Thank you to Middle River Hobbies for supplying the event with Prizes and Give-a-ways, we appreciate your support.

The Technical Track Layout proved to be both exciting and tough at the same time.  There were many close races with Sonny Santucci and his E-Revo taking 1st in Young Guns Racing, Mike Hylton and his Revo taking the title in Small Block Racing and Bill Chancey nudging out close competition with his Savage for the win in Big Block Racing.  In the Run Whatcha Brung Class, Ronnie Santucci took home the 1st Place Trophy with his E-Revo.

Freestyle is one of the favorites for Drivers and Spectators alike and Jay Snyder stepped in to be one of the Judges.  The Freestyle contestants got to show off their skill and got judged by a Monster Jam Driver.  Gabe Gravini came out as the Freestyle Champion running his E-Revo and received a Screamin’ Demon T-Shirt from Jay Snyder along with his Trophy.

Long Jump also is another crowd pleaser and many trucks were with-in feet of each other in distance.  After the trucks stopped flying and the dust settled, Roger Motto once again came out victorious with his Savage and a jump of over 36’

Pulling is gaining in popularity and Electric’s were geared up and ready for the competition.  The Pull off was round after round of sled pulling action and Gabe Gravini took the Electric Pulling Title.  Mike Hylton took the Small Block title and Tom Scott proved to have the strongest Big Block Truck to take home the title.

The Points Series is heating up!  Join us next month on July 11th for Race #2 of the Silver Cup Points Series!
